Today, I cover how to access ebooks and audiobooks from the library. www.bemovingforward.com.
Moving Forward is also available on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher Radio, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon Music.
Accessing ebooks and audiobooks from the library (with or without a Kindle device)
Check your library’s website for information on its electronic materials collection, including how to borrow them.
Note: Several libraries are now offering electronic registration to get a library card in case you don’t have one.
Most libraries will use Libby or Overdrive (available for free for IOS or Android)
Browse the collection:
Log-in with your library card account number.
You can get on the waitlist for books that are checked out.
You can also filter the lists by genre, category and by availability.
Checking out:
The Kindle is a popular option. You can either use a Kindle device or download the Kindle app to your mobile, tablet or laptop.
If you have both, you can switch back and forth as the Whisper Sync technology picks up from where you left off no matter which device you’re using.
The Libby app will also allow you to read the book right there if you prefer.
Check with your library’s website on other third-party reader app options.
Use the app to check out.
Returns are automatic at the end of the loan period.
If you finish early, return it early so the next person can enjoy it.
