This was a project that arrived purely by accident and happenstance in 2016. I had no idea coloring books were a thing until several people mentioned them to me, including a few who asked my advice on creating one. I got into a conversation with my co-creators and the more we explored this, the more we learned how popular these are and therapeutic! We thought it would be a fun side project and after mulling it over, we decided to take our favorite (or least favorite) office sayings and turn 19 of them into literal translations. We even consulted with a therapist who confirmed that these are great for stress relief.
Features:
A5 journal size, convenient for carrying in purses, brief bags, or large coat pockets (this ain’t your kids’ coloring book!).
19 of the most popular (or infamous) corporate cliches that made the top of several business publications “must stop using” list.
Unique original designs that translate cliches into hilarious, literal interpretations.
Pages are single-sided (no double dipping!).
Reverse side of the page contains fun trivia and a cliche hashtag for social media.
Gift or occasion checklist (so you can skip the card).
Part 1: Retrospective
Moving Forward has been an incredible journey for me. I never thought I’d last 10 episodes much less make it to 200! I started thinking about what I wanted to do for this episode back when season 5 began in January with episode 150. Later, during the season I spoke with Tim Fulton, on the importance of having an exit strategy. After our conversation, I considered ending the show here, feeling that 200 would be a great stopping point. Part of this was due to an increasing number of projects I’m taking on next year. However, after several conversations with friends, business partners, and podcast guests, who encouraged me to continue with the show into 2019, I rethought the decision and have decided to retool the show instead. More on this later.
Part II: What’s Next
Moving Forward will be a new show as we head into 2019. Up until now, it’s been a structured, interview-based show. I’ve been very fortunate to have incredible guests from CEOs and entrepreneurs to artists and musicians, come share their moving forward journeys with us.
For season 6, I’ll be taking the show solo. The content will be bite-sized: 5-7 minute episodes and each month I’ll be covering a different theme, kicking off in January with starting an online business.
The show will be compact and I’m going to skip a lot of the frills such as music, sound effects, and editing. I want this to be a real conversation with you, the listener. Keeping it short will force me to economize and really deliver content that is useful and digestible.
I want to thank all of you, including those who have been with me from day 1 and those who are just tuning in for the first time. You’ve been an incredible part of my moving forward journey and I hope you find the inspiration and guidance to continue doing so in 2019 and beyond.
